OshKosh B'Gosh Sign With Uncle Sam
Though OshKosh B'Gosh is now primarily known for children's clothing, when it was founded in 1895 as Grove Manufacturing Company it was a maker of bib striped overalls for farmers and railroad workers. As early as 1911, they began labeling their bib overalls with the now famous OshKosh B'Gosh. They manufactured clothes for the military during WWII and the Korean War. It wasn't until the 1960's that they became popular for their children's line. Frank F. Dornfeld & Co. was "The Store for Men & Boys" in Hoopeston, Illinois in the early 1900's and carried the well-known OshKosh B'Gosh brand of overalls.
