The Castle in Malbork (German: Ordensburg Marienburg, Polish: Zamek w Malborku) was built in Prussia by the Teutonic Order as an Ordensburg. It was named Marienburg, literally "Mary's Castle". The castle is a classic example of a medieval fortress; it is the world"�s largest brick gothic castle and one of the most impressive of its kind in Europe. Which owes its origins to the Teutonic Order, the Medieval Town of Toruń being the other, founded in 1231

Similar modern view across the river Nogat The castle was founded in 1274 by the Teutonic Order during their government in Prussia and is located on the Southeastern bank of the river Nogat. It was named Marienburg after the Virgin Mary, patron saint of the Order. The Order had been based in Acre, but when this last stronghold of the Crusades fell, the Order had to move its headquarters to Venice. In 1309, in the wake of both the papal persecution of the Knights Templar as well as the Teutonic takeover of Danzig, the Order under Siegfried von Feuchtwangen moved its headquarters into Prussian part of their monastic state. They chose the Marienburg, conveniently located at the Nogat, in the Vistula Delta, which allows access by ship.

The display area is illuminated with a three level, touch button lighting system and includes your choice of adjustabel crystle plate glass or solid wood shelving. The wood is hand hewn by our master craftsmen and is joined and doweled to form a solid mass with superior strength. The hand forged iron accents are finished with an oxide patina and the wood is finished with five coats of hand rubbed lacquer over the stain color. Mar proof leveling feet are included.

Our processes includes five to ten coats of hand rubbed furniture quality clear oils or water based non-toxic lacquers. It is applied, cured, rubbed and re-applied depending upon whether your order is limited edition or old growth original works. Every surface of this table and chairs is finely finished including the undersides and hidden areas. These furnishings are built to investment family heirloom quality and are finished to be virtually maintenance free and will stand the test of time. You may choose the natural color, from over 400 standard stain colors or computer color match to any color stain. Most of our finishes are water based and earth friendly. You may order any color or texture finish at no extra charge.
