Vintage Porcelain Signs and Petroliana of the Highest Quality

Very Rare Fleet Wing Gasoline And Motor Oil Antique Porcelain Sign, circa 1930s

Dimensions: 38" x 18"

Fleetwing Corporation was established in 1956 under the name of C. Wilson Oil Corporation, and purchased in 1958 by Walter and Elizabeth Smith. Today, the corporation is still family owned and operated.

When you buy from us, you're getting a genuine porcelain vintage sign. What exactly is a porcelain sign? Vitreous enamel, also called porcelain enamel, is a material made by fusing powdered glass to a substrate by firing, usually between 750 and 850 C (1,380 and 1,560 F). The powder melts, flows, and then hardens to a smooth, durable vitreous coating on metal, or on glass or ceramics. These signs are so rare because many of them were used for scrap metal during World War 2. The ones still around today are highly-sought by collectors.
