Fénis Castle is an Italian fortress dating back as early as the 1242 CE. The castle is located in the town of Aosta on the Dora Baltea River. It was constructed under the direction of Prince Challant who owned the region of Val d'Aosta and wanted to use it in order to control the area's iron trade. Though it has never been assaulted, it is fortified with tall stone walls and several cylindrical towers. The Castello di Fenis more commonly known as the castle of Fenis is a 13th century castle built by the Challant family. This fairytale like castle took almost 100 years to build and is the best presserved castle in the Valle d'Aosta.

Many of these architects and designers are as well known as Leonardo da Vinci (renaissance architecture) or Michelangelo,s (baroque architecture) as well as more recently William Morris, John Ruskin (founders of the Arts and Crafts furniture movement in circa 1800 England) Gustave Stickley (founder of the American Arts and Crafts movement in America circa 1900.) Frank Loyd Wright, Charles and Henry Greene to name a few.

Hand hewn from solid exotic cedar, this custom desk features six drawers on easy glide tracks, two pull out writing shelves, one cabinet with adjustable shelving, and a drop down, pull-out keyboard shelf. All drawers have custom, hand made grape-and-vine iron pulls, and the cabinet door has been hand carved with a grape cluster design. All wood has been finished with five coats of hand rubbed lacquer over the stain color. Mar proof leveling feet are included.

As Shown: Steel Framed And Exotic Cedar Top Hutch Hand Forged Grapes And Vines Color: Dark Walnut Semi Gloss & P-500 Patina Black With Varied Patina Accents - Exotic Cedar & Solid, Hand Forged Iron - Light Distress - 104"L X 15"D X 62"T. This matching hutch features a 2" sq. solid walled iron frame with blacksmith forged and anvil hammered grape, leaf, and vine accents. All iron is patina finished with oxides hand applied at over 1000º. Each of the six doors has a recessed panel design, while the two end doors feature additional grape cluster and leaf carvings. All iron and woodwork is completely custom and all wood is finished inside and out with five coats of hand rubbed lacquer.

This piece has been hand hewn from solid cedar. The top features a hand carved grape and vine design. The upper section is illuminated by a touch-button lighting system and the 1/4" glass shelves are enclosed by two cedar framed, 1/4" crystal plate glass doors with hand forged vine pulls. Shown here as crystal clear, this glass may be etched with the artwork of your choice. The lower section features two hand carved raised panel doors with an adjustable interior wood shelf. This piece is fully finished in five coats of hand rubbed lacquer over the stain color, and includes mar proof leveling feet.

As Shown: Matching Chair Hand Tacked Leather Hand Forged Vine And Limb back Design Chair, Color: Dark Walnut Semi Gloss - Exotic Cedar - Light Distress - 24"W X 24"D X 45"T. This matching chair features hand hewn, solid cedar construction and features a hand forged twig and leaf back support. with a varied patina finish. The cushions are high density foam that may be upholstered with your choice of fabric or top-grain leather. The legs and frame are a full 2" sq. and are pegged and doweled. All wood is completely finished in five coats of hand rubbed lacquer over the stain color. Mar proof button feet are included.

Finish Details As Shown: Color: Dark Walnut Semi Gloss Our final finish processes includes five to ten coats of hand rubbed furniture quality clear oils or water based non-toxic lacquers. It is applied, cured, rubbed and re-applied depending upon whether your order is limited edition or old growth original works. Every surface of this furnishing is finely finished including the undersides and hidden areas. These furnishings are built to investment family heirloom quality and are finished to be virtually maintenance free and will stand the test of time. You may choose the natural color, from over 400 standard stain colors or we will computer color match to any color stain you may desire. Most of our finishes are water based and earth friendly. You may order any single stain color or texture finish at no extra charge. If raised grain finish is desired, the wire brushed raised grain of the natural cedar is designed to appear rustic and aged, however this is a highly finished, snag and splinter free surface.
